In the early 2000s, a decline in lobster landings in the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence set the Maritime Fishermen’s Union (MFU) on a mission: to enhance lobster stocks and build sustainable fisheries. This mission led to the creation of Homarus Inc. in 2001 for research, development, and innovation in fisheries science.
